Resources
Ipsalu Tantra This particular school of Tantra is where I got my kundalini on. Ipsalu emphasizes the spiritual aspect of Tantra with a body-centered approach, and without getting stuck in any one chakra. Foundation for Shamanic Studies The Foundation is a great resource for learning about Shamanic journeying. Its programs are well run and its teachers are wise and qualified. Pax Programs Pax does amazing work in healing the rift that exists between the sexes. Their programs are of particular interest for women who wish to heal their relationship to the male gender. Karyn Armstrong Karen is a terrific shamanic and tantric practitioner who operates with great power and integrity in the Portland, OR area. Enneagram Portland Enneagram Portland is a terrific resource for those in the Pacific Northwest wishing to learn about this very powerful tool used in spiritual direction, psychology and business. The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle This book is an invaluable tool for learning how to simply be present, and to let go of harmful thought patterns. Just read it. Song of the Bird by Anthony De Mello A book of parables from various traditions, this one's a gem. Each page has crazy wisdom and will stir your heart and mind. Any books by Robert A. Johnson Robert A. Johnson is a treasure. A Jungian analyst who was told his life's purpose by Jung himself, Johnson uses classic myths and fables to deliver unusually potent insights into the human condition. If you had to narrow it down to a few of his books (they're short, buy them all!), you might try Ecstasy, Owning Your Shadow, Inner Work, Balancing Heaven and Earth and The Fisher King and the Handless Maiden. Those are my personal favorites; your mileage may vary. In the link above, never mind all the books about the great blues guitarist Robert Johnson. Or buy some blues. Yeah, I'm all about that. Iron John by Robert Bly This book pretty much kicked off the modern Men's Spirituality movement and is incredibly valuable. My hint: Read the myth as told in its entirety, found in the back of the book, first. Then start from the beginning. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz A classic. Keep the Four Agreements and watch your life change. Contact: Call Al at (503) 708-9394 or send an email to al@lifeluster.com. |
